Art by Jamaican artists in Geneva
From Tuesday September 10th to Sunday 22nd artworks by five Jamaican fine artists will be on exhibition in Geneva. Held in a popular art district and tourist location in Geneva’s Old Town, the exhibition offers a window into Jamaica’s dynamic contemporary art scene.
The artists, who reside in Jamaica, Germany and the USA, are currently exhibiting at Expérience Jamaïque online gallery. Their varied histories, current life experiences and contexts are expressed in their work. Yet amid this diversity is a common connection to Jamaica.
On exhibition are works by internationally recognised emerging artists Andrae Green and Nadine Anderson-Cheng, whose works are included in the Saatchi gallery collection. Stafford Schliefer and Alphanso Blake are established artists, whose works are in private collections in Jamaica and abroad. In addition, there is Lisa Hendricks whose artistry blends her African and British roots with current experience in Jamaica, her adopted home.
The exhibition takes place at Studio Art Unlimited, 25 Grand Rue, Old Town Geneva. It is hosted by Expérience Jamaïque gallery in partnership with the Jamaica Tourist Board.
